It is with heavy hearts that the family announces that “Bill” William James Weston passed away on August 14, 2025, in Edson, Alberta. He was born on July 12, 1938, in Norbuck, Alberta, to Elizabeth and Reginald Weston. He joined the Navy at 17 years, at the age of 20 he worked for the railroad as a telegrapher, which brought him to Mercoal. Bill met Rosalie in Mercoal, Alberta, in 1962 and they married in 1963. Together they raised 3 kids.
The coal Branch was their home for 28 years as Bill worked at Cardinal River Coal. He spent his spare time as a beekeeper and held horses during that time. He also enjoyed his ham radio, VEBBFR was his callsign. In his retirement the move to Wabamun was made, where he enjoyed time with his sailboat for 17 years. Just recently their son Scott helped them with their move to Edson.
Bill was predeceased by his son Kevin in 1995.
He is survived by his loving wife Rosalie, sons Scott (Anna) with Daryl, and Brian (John) in New Zealand, grandsons Cody (Jade) with great grandson Asher, granddaughter Andrea (Phil) with great grandchildren Kylie and Jordan, sister Wilma Wright and all her family, serval sisters and brothers-in-law as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is resting in Peace in Mercoal, Alberta.
