It is with deepest sadness we announce on October 26, 2023, the passing of William Handford (Bill) as he was known to most.
Born October 12,1937 in Liberty, Sasatchewan, he was the eldest of 2 children born to Ruth and Clarence Handford. He was blessed to be very close to his sibling Ruthan.
Bill was a proud Flight Engineer in the RCAF for about 25 years and spent the first part of his career life in Grande Center, Alberta, where he met his Loving Wife Millie on the base in Cold Lake. They moved around with the RCAF to several locations from Germany to Moosejaw Sask., while their family grew to five with three sons, Gary, Mike and Dale.
He has been a huge part of his 6 grandchildren’s lives: Alishia, Andrew, Angelica, Logan, Daniel and Ethan. As well as an amazing roll model for his three sons, Gary and wife Christine, Mike and wife Amber, Crystal (mother of Logan, Daniel and Ethan, and son Dale.
He spent many hours working on his amazing model railroad display that he and his sons and grandchildren built by hand and enjoyed hours running through the mountains of the coal valley area they recreated.
Bill was employed at the Mine near Cadomin for many years, then retired. He and Millie enjoyed travelling south to Uma, Arizona, with family and Friends.
Bill will be missed by many more people than he was aware of that respected and considered him 'Friend'.
His Family will continue to remember his sense of humor, his laugh, his words of wisdom and most of all his amazing love of each of them.
