Vivian Rose (Findlay) Holopainen

It is with heavy hearts the family of Vivian Rose Holopainen announce her sudden and unexpected passing on April 3, 2021, with her son Tim and daughter Marie by her side.

Vivian will be greatly missed by her best friend and husband Ahti Holopainen, as well as her loving children Louanne Berg (Scott) and children Gregory, Kyle (Rae-Ann) and Emma, Kelley Findlay (Denise) and sons Colton (Maaike) and Ty, Timothy Holopainen (Kim) and son Bodhi, Dave Holopainen and sons Noah, Donovan and Jace, Marie Dossajee (Huzefa) and children Rickia, Leena (Brody), and Tristan (Jamey), Donna Holopainen (Greg) and daughter Makenna, Lance Holopainen and sons Kayleb and Tapio, Kimberly Holopainen (Steve and daughter Cali) and daughters Madison and Payton, and Melissa Holopainen and children Breanna and Landen.

Vivian is also survived by her three great grandsons Keaton, Kelton and Owen, her four brothers Danny Sr. (Madeline), Lloyd, Leonard (Louise) and John (Valerie), brothers-in-law Ekki and Seppo, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Vivian was predeceased by her parents David and Marie Findlay, her sister Nancy Desjarlais, brothers Allan Findlay, Raymond Findlay, Peter Findlay, sister Linda Findlay, as well as her Father and Mother-in-law, Urho and Hilma Holopainen.

We would like to thank the Good Samaritan Care Centre for the kindness and loving care they provided to mom during her stay. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff of the Westview Healthcare Centre, Family Medicine Unit, for their care and compassion, and for making mom’s final days as comfortable as possible.

Visitation will be held at the Cabin on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 12:00pm to 9:00 pm.

The funeral service, which will be attended by immediate family only, will be held at the Edson Funeral Home on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 1:00pm with the interment to follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alberta Arthritis Society.
