Vida (Blagotinsek) Dedich

Vida Dedich, a long time resident of Hinton, Alberta, passed away on August 6, 2026, at the age of 93 years. Vida was born May 16, 1933, in Andraz, Slovenia. In 1958, she moved to the Hinton area where she raised her children and became an active member of the community, which she continued to be until her passing.

Vida will be remembered for her love of and skill for gardening, cooking, and entertaining – which was always filled with laughter and storytelling. She loved clothing and shopping, and had a fabulous wardrobe. She loved Slovenian folk music and was always the first to dance. 

She will be remembered with a cup of coffee and a pastry in her hand.

Vida leaves to mourn her passing, her three children Fred (Linette), Ady (Mark) and Emy (Dale); grandchildren Brandon, Kaelyn, Jelena, Kelley, and Sigourney; as well as great grandchildren. She is also survived by other relatives and dear friends. 

A service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, August 15, at 2pm.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and support staff that were involved with her care.
