In Loving Memory of Tyson Kowalsky
Tyson was born in Calgary, Alberta, and spent his early years in Carrot River, Saskatchewan, until the age of four, when his family moved to Evansburg, Alberta, in the summer of 1986. Two years later, in 1988, they settled in Drayton Valley, where Tyson attended public school, made lifelong friends, and discovered his passion for riding dirt bikes — a love that stayed with him throughout his life.
In 1994, the family moved to Hinton, Alberta, where Tyson completed his schooling and began his working life. He found joy and skill in operating equipment and driving trucks, but his heart always belonged to the outdoors. He loved fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and boating — yet nothing brought him more happiness than being on two wheels, pushing the limits and living life full throttle.
Tyson is survived by his only son Zachary, loving parents, Norman and Iris Kowalsky; his older brother Kurtis and wife Joanna; and their children Taylor, Keenan, Gavin, Sophia, Fletcher, and Lennox. He will be deeply missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, along with many friends and extended family.
On Aug 8th, 2025, at around 3 pm, Tyson took his last ride just hours before his passing, leaving this world at 9 pm in the Edson Hospital with his dad and Uncle Mike by his side. True to his character, he faced his final days with courage, humor, and love for those around him. Before heading out for his last ride, he joked to his family:
"Live every day like it’s your last — that reminds me, I should probably change my underwear. I don’t want to die in dirty underwear."
Tyson fought a long, hard battle and knew his time was coming, but he met it with bravery, strength, and an open heart. His memory will forever ride on in the hearts of those who loved him.
