Tony Del Vecchio

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio (Tony) Del Vecchio on March 9, 2022 at the age of 73. 

Born in Gallo Matese Caserta Italy in 1948, the youngest of 6 children, he immigrated to Canada at the age of 14 and became a citizen shortly after.  He lived in Hinton for his entire 59 years in Canada.  He started working for the Woodlands department of the mill at the age of sixteen where he retired after 44 years of service.  He enjoyed his time going for coffee with his buddies, quadding, camping and fishing at his lake lot in Faust, AB.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bev of 52 years, his daughter Dena (Todd) Sweet, Hinton, AB. Marie (Shane) Delvecchio-Stevens, Whitecourt, AB. His cherished Grandchildren Zachary Sweet, Vancouver, BC. Nicholas Sweet, Hinton, AB. and Jayde Stevens, Whitecourt, AB.  His beloved sister Pasqua (Ben) Perrino of Oshawa, Ont., and countless family and friends. 

Tony was predeceased by his parents Giovanni (John) and Appolonia Del Vecchio, sister Maria and brother-in-law Joe Perrino, sister Angela Marzucco, brother Dominico (Dan) Del Vecchio, Sister Antonia and brother-in law Angelo Chiodi. 

Funeral services will be held at Our Lady of the Foothills Catholic Church on March 16, 2022 @ 1:00pm.  He will be laid to rest at the Hinton Woodlawn Cemetery following the service.

Fellowship will be held in the basement of the Catholic church after the burial.
