Thomas Larry Stright

We regret to announce the passing of Thomas “Larry” Stright on Sunday, May 4th, 2025. Mr. Stright passed away at the age of 70 at the Edson Hospital, following a prolonged battle with cancer

Larry was born July 1st, 1954, in Sarnia, Ontario, to Betty and Garnet Stright. He has  two siblings; an older brother John (spouse Virginia), whose children are Cara (Jeff), Colleen (rick) and Sheila; a younger brother, Rick (spouse Debbie), whose children are Jason (Catherine), Tabatha (Brian) and Johnathon (Sarah). Additionally, he has several nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Larry studied Business Management at Fanshawae College, specializing in the tire industry. His career began in Ontario, later transitioning to Winnipeg and Calgary where he joined Tirecraft  and met Bonnie. In 1997, Tirecraft transferred him to Edson, Alberta. Larry later worked for Fountain Tire in Fort McMurray before returning to Edson. Larry and Bonnie purchased their home in 1997 and were married on July 7th, 2001.

Larry is survived by his brother Rick (spouse Debbie), his loving wife Bonnie and three stepchildren: Peter (spouse Flora) Thorne, Billie-Jo F and Tanya (spouse Eric) Thorne, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Garnet and Betty Stright, his older brother John, grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

Larry had a penchant for shopping trips, always looking for the best deals. He cherished his animals and enjoyed observing wildlife, including deer and moose in his yard. Rock music was a staple in his life and he also appreciated a good bonfire.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
