It is with heavy hearts that the family of Steve Derksen announce his passing on August 25, 2024, at the age of 63 years, In Edson, Alberta.
Steve was born in Lacombe, Alberta, on November 26, 1960. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Dallas; children: Trish Weber (Curt) and Steven Derksen; grandchildren: Kalvin Weber, Alida Weber (Jeremiah), TY Derksen and Ethan Derksen; great grandson: Preston Weber.
Sisters: Jean Linklater (Murray), Joan Bauman, Sonia Roy (Barry); brother-in-law Rick Muir (Elaine), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Steven and Alida Derksen and father-in-law William (Bill) Muir of Edson, Alberta.
Steve built his life in Edson with his family. He was known for his strong work ethic. Steve was a kind man who always helped people. He enjoyed traveling and spending time on his boat at Scotch Creek.
Despite his cancer battle, Steve amazed his doctors, family and friends with his strength and determination. You would often hear people say: “There is no man tougher than Steve.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Edson Legion on September 3rd at 1:00 pm., 5016 5th Ave. Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery.
Please enjoy some lunch at the Legion afterwards.
