Stanley was born and raised in Edmonton. He graduated from the University of Alberta as a psychologist.
During his early twenties he traveled, visiting countries in Europe and Asia.
He was employed by the provincial government as a social worker but had to retire at a young age due to health issues.
He lived over 24 years on an acreage in Rosevear where he enjoyed country living and the companionship of his dogs Statsi and Lady.
Stanley always had a positive attitude in spite of his health problems and was an inspiration to all who knew him.
In November 2020 he moved to Parkland Lodge where he passed away.
