Stanley Davidge Obituary

Stanley Edwin Davidge passed away the age of 91 years at the Mayerthorpe long-term care facility on July 15, 2026. Dad was born in Edson, Alberta on February 19, 1935 as the youngest of six children born to William and Ethel Davidge. He was predeceased by both his parents as well as siblings Mildred, Barton, Rodney, George and great-grandson Kolton Falshet. He is survived by his brother Eldon, 93, of Victoria, BC, his children Tammie (Mervin) Andreas and John Davidge. Grandchildren Tyler (Jackie), Travis (Pam), Chantel (Chris), Lacey (Dakota). Great grandchildren Ryder, Kinlee, Alex, Renee, Zach, Camille, Avery, Axis, Mike, and Liz as well as numerous in-laws, nephews, and nieces.

Stan courted, then married the love of his life, Inger Lis Petersen, on July 9, 1960. They shared their lives and adventured together for 42 years until Lis' passing in 2002. Stan worked in many areas throughout his life, starting at Edson Motors, then to CN Railway, and then onto various Oil Rigs where he worked his way up to be an Oilfield Field Manager for Edson, Pine Creek and Fox Creek until his retirement. He loved all things to do with the outdoors: camping, hunting, fishing and spent much time with his family doing those very things. We have many memorable fishing and camping trips; most recently last July, we enjoyed a trip to Carson Pegasus, a place that holds a very special place in the hearts of his grandchildren as we spent many summers with him at that lake.  He had the time of his life. Stan was also involved in the Legion, Pioneer Cabin, IOOF Oddfellows.  He enjoyed playing and running crib tournaments and attending weekly meat draws.

Stan will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Interment to be held at a later date.
