Sharon Ann (Mercier) McDavid

Sharon Ann McDavid (Mercier), 68, of Edson, Alberta, passed away at the Edson Healthcare Centre on February 7,2025, with her family by her side.

Sharon was born to the late Raymond and Shirley Mercier February 25,1956, in Maria, Gaspe, Quebec. Sharon graduated from New Richmond High School in 1974, then continued her education in Montreal at Champlain College, until she met the love of her life, David McDavid.

 Sharon and David married July 5, 1975, in New Richmond, Quebec, and had two daughters, Laurie Ann and Jodie Lee. They moved around a lot from Quebec to Alberta to Ontario and Newfoundland, finding their way back to Edson, Alberta.

 Sharon was predeceased by her husband David on March 26,2000.

 Sharon was an active member in the Royal Canadian Legion at Branches 51 and 172. She loved volunteering her time after retiring from Living Waters Catholic School Division.  She was always up for anything… a road trip, camping, side by siding, travelling, ice fishing, snowshoeing and playing with her grandkids and great grandkids. You name it, she was game!

 Sharon is survived by her two sisters, Patricia (Jacques) LeBlanc, Brenda-Lee (Dave) Appelt, and brother Kevin (Kathy) Mercier, her two daughters Laurie (David) Yates, Jodie (Darron) Lehman,  9 grandchildren, Grayson (JJ), Dawson, Sarah (Jeff), Josh, Dillion (Brittney) Daniel, Erika (Darcy),Adison and Tarron, as well as great grandchildren, Aylah, Kayden, Carter, Emersyn, and Jack. Also left to mourn are many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She held a special place in everyone’s heart who met her. She will be greatly missed and always loved.

 A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 3:00 PM, at #11 Bench Creek Estates, Edson, Alberta
