Sandra Ellen (Lee) Young

Sandra Ellen (Lee) Young, Age 76, of Edson AB, Passed away on December 30th, 2025.

Sandra was born on January 27th, 1949, in Edmonton, AB. On September 20th, 1969, she married Stewart Robert Young. They made their home in Edson, AB, where they raised two children. She worked as an Office Administrator at the RCMP for more than 30 years.

Sandra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She especially enjoyed camping with family, tending to her vast flower garden and spending time with friends and family.

Sandra also treasured her “swimming ladies”, cherishing the friendship, laughter and connection they shared.

During her battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, Sandra showed remarkable strength and grace. She was fortunate to stay at Sorrentino’s Compassion House many times, a place she truly loved, where she formed meaningful connections and found comfort and support. She was especially thankful to her niece, Susan Davies, for staying with her on many occasions.

She will be remembered for her loving nature, resilience and her appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Sandra’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 56 years, Stewart Robert (Bob) Young, daughter Lori (Mitch) Hellekson, grandchildren Cole Hellekson, Morgan Hellekson (Tucker Gray), son Kerry Young (Shallen Beaudry and Children Brooke and Logan), all of Edson, AB, sister Donna Lee, brother Gerald Lee and numerous family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
