Rolande "Rollie" Mary (Lambert) Lord

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Rolande.

Mom passed away April 4, 2025, at the age of 96 surrounded by her family.

Rolande was born in Amqui, Quebec, June 3, 1928, to Wilfred and Angeline Lambert. She was the oldest of three children. She married Emilio Lord in 1960 and had four children. Her eldest son Philippe passed away in 2003.

Mom loved to travel to visit friends and family afar. She would make annual trips to Quebec to join her cousin and they would drive all over Quebec to visit friends and other relatives. Her other favourite travels were to her summer home in southern BC, annual trips would be made to visit with her longtime friends.

Mom had many pastimes, but her heart and soul was in her volunteering for nonprofit organizations. Many would know her as Rollie  at the share shop for over 35 years. Her other pastime was knitting. We’re not sure how many hundreds of baby hats she knitted so the newborns at the Hinton General Hospital would have a hat. She also made several scarves and adult hats to  donate to the less fortunate. She always wanted to help everyone.

Rollie  is survived by her son Denis, daughters Lise and Lynn and son-in-law Daryle Kissner.  She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Joshua, Dylan, Deedra, and Sheldon and one great grandson Philip and numerous family members and longtime friends.

In keeping with mom‘s request, there will be no  service. A private family service will be held at Woodland Cemetery at a later date, to put her to rest with her husband and son.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff and Dr. Findlay at the Hinton General Hospital for the excellent care and compassion that Mom received.
