Roberta Foulds Obituary

Roberta (Bobbi) Lynne Foulds passed away Friday February 21, 2025, at the age of 48, in Yellowhead County, Alberta, with her soul mate Dave Velichko by her side.  Bobbi was born April 24, 1976, in Campbell River, BC.

Bobbi spent her childhood years in the Lundbreck/Pincher Creek area of Alberta. She graduated from Livingstone High School in Lundbreck, Class of ’94.  She then attended Lethbridge Community College, studying advertising and PR, Class of ’96.  Following her time in Lethbridge she completed a course in Computer information systems at DeVry University in Calgary.  Around 2002 Bobbi moved to Edson, where she raised her boys and became a very integral part of the community -especially the Legion.  In 2011 she met “the man of her dreams, warrior of her heart, missing piece of her soul” She and Dave worked together building a life, a family, volunteering at the Legion, and of course going on adventures.  Bobbi was often heard saying “wanna go on an adventure?” She loved to explore even in her own back 40, go new places, meet new friends and wherever she went she left her mark.

She filled many Legion positions over the years and was, to many locals, the face and voice of Branch 51. Bobbi’s mom was the Ladies Aux President in Pincher Creek, so from a young age Bobbi was involved in Legion activities, which developed into a lifelong passion and dedication.  In 2017 Bobbi was chosen to take part in the Legion Pilgrimage of Remembrance. This opportunity to go to Europe to live the history and share her experience with others was one of the most rewarding experiences of her life. Because of her passion and dedication for volunteering she also received the Sovereign’s Medal for volunteers as well as the Queen’s Jubilee Medal, among many others. Bobbi held many jobs over the years – most recently as a Century 21 Realtor. It was in her nature to help others.  She took every opportunity to do so.  Even when faced with the battle of her life she saw it as an opportunity to help others. She felt that by sharing her story publicly on social media – the good and the bad – that even if it helped one other person on that journey – then it was worth it.

Bobbi is survived by her soulmate Dave Velichko, Sons Damon Linchet and Connor Linchet, father Ren Shenton, sister Nikki Butler Westoby, mother-in-Law Alison Velichko, special friends Dawn and Andy Olsvik, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, friends and her legion family. She will also be missed by her special furbabies Cinder and Sassy.  Bobbi was predeceased by her mother Sherill Westoby in 2021 and her two uncles Laurie Foulds and Shawn Foulds.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the Edson Legion on March 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm under the direction of The Edson Funeral Home.

There will be a time of fellowship and light lunch after the service.

Donations in memory of Bobbi can be made to the Legion Poppy Fund.

Wise words from Bobbi on one of her blogs “Life is a journey, not a destination So my best advice to anybody out there just to enjoy the process. We learn, we grow, we stumble, we fall, we climb, we win, we lose, we love…. Love ya! B”
