Robert Dale McNaughton

“Bob” Robert Dale McNaughton was born April 6, 1943 and died on his Birthday in 2022.

Bob’s battle with cancer is over.

Bob was predeceased by his wife Elaine, his father John, mother Marybell, brothers Wilfred, Jack and Jim and his sisters Catherine and Donna.

He is survived by his children Debbie (Lindsay) Gallien, Jack (Shannon) McNaughton, Blaire (Rachelle Roberto) Mc Naughton and Mary McNaughton, his siblings Alva Long, Janet Smith, Dennis (Betty) McNaughton, Leonard McNaughton, Joan Sheton, Sharon (Doug) Acorn and Doug (Sandie) McNaughton, his grandchildren: Camden, Connor, Bryce, Natasha, Justin and Nickolas as well as great grandchildren Tyrone, Soup, Tray and Darby.

Also mourning his loss are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends, especially best friends Mark Brandle and Connie Clarkson.

Bob joined the army at 17 until he was 20. From there he worked the oilpatch. He worked many years on rigs, even overseas. He even moved his family to England for work for a while.

In his later years Bob ran and repaired boilers. During his life he met and befriended several wonderful people. All through his life Bob loved the bush. Camping, hunting, quadding (getting stuck), just enjoying nature. He looked forward to his fall campouts with his son and grandsons and whoever else joined in.

Although through his illness he could no longer camp, he still enjoyed going for a ride, having a fire and cooking a bratwurst.

We thank everyone – Dr. Zdrill, Dr. Sancher, Nurses, Homecare, Pharmacy and all family and friends that took care and visited him during his illness. All the caring and love showed what a wonderful man Bob truly was.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 22, 2022, from 11 – 2 at the Lion’s Hall in Edson. There will be an open microphone for all to share a story.
