Robert Phillip King
1933-2020
Robert Phillip King loving husband of Alberta “Dawn” King passed away May 9th, 2020 at the Edson Long Term Care Facility, at the age of 86 years.
Daughters Shirley (Tim) Biernacki of Blind Bay B.C. Phylis (Murray) Barrass of Shining Bank, Alberta.
Grandchildren Leslie (Racheal) Biernacki, Chris ( Christine) Biernacki, EllenaH Biernacki (Jason) Richard (Tammy) Barrass, Jenny (Derek) Seibel
Great-grandchildren Taran, Josh, Kennedy, Darnell, Ryan, Brandon, Sheldon, Cynthia, Rebecca, Holly and William.
Also 4 Great-great-grandchildren.
Sister–in-laws Alice King of Cochrane AB., Helen King of Airdrie AB. and Ann King of Cochrane, AB.
Robert was pre-deceased by his wife Dawn in March of this year. Also his sister Bessie (Dave) MacKenzie, brother William “Bill” (Hilda) King and Kathleen, brother Harvey King, brother Bert (Marleen) King and brother Bryan King.
Robert was born August 16, 1933 and married his lifelong love on December 31, 1955.
They lived in Calgary and later moved to Edson. Dad always said he was a Jack of all trades but a master of none. After obtaining a homestead draw they moved to and farmed in Fulham, Alberta. Dad spent many years as a Derrick man on the rigs. After retirement they moved back into Edson. He was a familiar face out walking with his cap pointing upward to the sky.
In lieu of flowers, Donations may be made to the Fulham Memorial Scholarship Fund Box 17, Peers Alberta T0E 1W0 or Edson Continuing Care Centre towards the purchase of a portable oxygen machine, 3825 – 6th Ave. Edson, Alberta T7E 0C5.
A Celebration of Life will be held in July along with internment at the Shining Bank Cemetery.
