On November 28th,1964, he married Lis Madsen and started a family. In 1971 Bob wanted to spend more time with his family and started painting and renovating houses in Edson, he did this until he built his first home in 1976. Since that time Bob has built numerous homes in Edson, Hinton, Drayton Valley and even Edmonton. Bob raised Elk and Morgan Horses.
He loved being out in the country, so in 1996, he and Lis moved to a farm down the Robb highway close to McLeod River.
In 2006 he and Lis were in a terrible car accident where Bob spent several months in the hospital, had numerous surgeries and bone grafts on his legs.
On September 24, 2016, with many family members present, Bob presented the monument he had built to commemorate the Anderson family settlers of the Hargwen Lands.
In 2019 Bob semi-retired, only taking on a couple of renovation projects. They sold the farm and Bob and Lis moved back to Edson.
Bob loved spending time with his family and was the first person stepping up to help whether it was family, friends or neighbours.
