Richard "Rick" Emile Croteau

Richard Emile Croteau "Rick" of Carrot Creek, AB, passed away at the age of 68 years at the Edson Healthcare Center on Thursday July 27, 2023.

Rick was Born August 19, 1954, in Kapuskasing, ON, to Marcel and Jacqueline Croteau.

He moved from Ontario in 1956 to Old Entrance (Hinton, AB) where he spent his childhood.

He had a few different Jobs, Entrance Ranch, Seizmic, In-Land Cement and Weyerhauser.

Rick was first married to Ruby Bachman, they had a daughter, Darci Leigh Faith Croteau (Born: March 22,  1976)

His second marriage was to Barbara-Ann Sauve and she brought with her a daughter, Shelly-Ann Julie Croteau (Born: August 5, 1977). Barb and Rick would then have a son named Shilo Richard Croteau (Born: October 18, 1981).

In 1986 Rick and Naoni bought a farm in Carrot Creek, and on July 2,  1988 they were married.

Rick and Naoni love animals, together they started farming, raising wolves, coyotes, lynx, bobcat and racoon, along with many domestic pets along the way.

Rick is survived by: Naoni Croteau of Carrot Creek, Shilo (Amanda), Xavier and Mya Croteau of Edson, Lorraine (Marcus) Vanderveer of Bickerdike and Cathy Croteau of Swan Hills.

He was  pre-deceased by: Marcel and Jacqueline Croteau, Darci Leigh Faith Croteau, Shelly-Ann Julie Croteau, Victor Croteau, Brian and Ernest Croteau. Just to name a few of many we have lost.

A Burial will take place August 3, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Carrot Creek Cemetery (53357-53399 Rge Rd 134), sandwiches and coffee following the Burial at their Farm. The Memorial (or Celebration of Life) to follow on Rick’s 69th  birthday, August 19, 2023,  at their Farm for 12:00PM , camping is available.
