It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ralph Hughie Douglas, age 65, in Hinton, Alberta on Sunday April 19, 2020.
Ralph was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. He met his future wife Carol who was from Morrisburg, Ontario at their place of work at Caldwell Linen Mill in Iroquois Ont. Later both of them decided to move to Alberta in 1976 where Ralph and Carol raised 2 daughters (Mandy and Stacey) and 1 son (predeceased, Kenny).
The reason Ralph and Carol moved to Alberta was that Ralph had received a job to work at the mine in Grand Cache. When the mine closed in Grand Cache, they moved to Hinton Alberta for Ralph to continue to work in the mine there. He had been with the mines in Hinton for 38+ years.
Ralph was a very family oriented man who loved spending quality time with his family. His passion was to spend lots of time with his grandson Gavin and travel/camping with his wife Carol. As we all know, Ralph was a man with very few words but when he spoke, we all listened to what he had to say. He also had an excellent sense of humour in a quiet way.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife Carol Douglas; his children, Mandy and Stacey Douglas; his Grandson Gavin Douglas; his son in-law Jean-Marc Delisle; his sister Louise Guenther and brother Kevin Douglas, also nieces, nephews, and friends across Canada.
He is predeceased by his parents Verna and Hughie Douglas; his brothers Kenneth and David; his sister Holly and his son Kenny.
