Quinn Ruszkowski Obituary

Quinn Peter Ruszkowski of Hinton, AB, passed away at the age of 49 on September 28, 2024.

Quinn was born on March 2, 1975, in Prince Albert, SK, to Peter and Stephanie Ruszkowski. He was the fifth of eight children and enjoyed a happy childhood growing up on the family farm. Life on the farm taught him the importance of family, faith, honesty, and hard work. These values were important to Quinn, and he stayed true to them throughout his life.

He attended East Central Elementary School, Wesmor Jr. High and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. He attended the U of S to pursue agriculture and decided the formal education route was not right for him.

He worked with his brother, Perri-John, in construction for a short-time before moving to Alberta in 1995. He began working with Bonnetts Wireline in Fox Creek and later in Hinton. Quinn was young and a quick learner, level-headed, with a strong work ethic, boldly determined and just a really likable guy. This is where he found his niche and was employed there until 2013 when he decided to start his own company, Quinnski Wireline.

Quinn met the love of his life, Anna, and they started dating in 2002 and married July 2004. They were blessed with their daughter Mikayla and son Simon. Together they loved to explore the outdoors, work, eat and travel, always with a good dose of laughter.

He loved his family and always made time for trips to Saskatchewan. In between trips were long conversations on the phone. You knew you mattered to Quinn and he showed it with a genuine interest in you.

Quinn is survived by Anna, his wife of 20 years; children Mikayla and Simon; parents Peter and Stephanie; siblings Perri-John (Susan), Alison (Robert), Corliss (Shane), Rena, Casey (Joey), Petra (Leighton), Maria (Ben); in-laws Joel (Lisa), (Maureen), Peter, Ed (Lara), Michael (Wanda) and over 40 nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandparents; Anna's parents James and Luella Chell; brothers-in-law Adam Dyer, Paul Chell; a special mentor and uncle, Peter Abramyk; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Heartfelt thanks to Hinton Emergency Services responders.
