With deep sadness we announce the passing of Mum, Nan, on August 12, 2021, at the grand old age of 97.
Phyllis was born on December 23, 1923, in Liverpool, England. She was an only child but grew up with a big happy family. She married Harold, the love of her life, on September 25, 1948. They immigrated to Edmonton in 1953 and then moved to Hinton a few years later, where they happily resided for 64 years.
Phyl worked for a short time at Northwestern Pulp & Paper & the Forestry School before she became the Secretary at Crescent Valley School for many years. She volunteered and spent many hours for the Hospital Auxiliary, both Mum and Dad delivered meals on wheels for many years.
Her passions included cooking, reading, lots of travelling, playing bridge, she loved visiting and going for coffee or dinner with family and friends. She basically loved anything English.
Phyl’s kind and generous spirit will be missed by so many who’s lives she has touched. We will remember her gentle words, warm heart, smile and feisty wit about her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Gordon (Michelle) and Anita (Chuck), as well as her precious grandchildren Chelsea, Bradley, Olivia and Lane; niece Pam (Barry) as well as cousins Joyce, Andrew (Michelle), Tim (Liz), Thomas, Lilly, James, Emma and John, all from England.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Dreyer for his excellent care given to Phyllis, as well as Pine Valley Lodge and the Hinton Continuing Care Center.
In keeping with Phyllis’ wishes, cremation will take place and we will be celebrating her long, beautiful life in a small private family gathering.

We have only memories, dear Mother
We cherish our whole life through
But the sweetness will live forever
As we treasure the memories of you.
We love you, Nan!
