Phyllis Alberta Klein passed away peacefully, at the age of 95, in Whitecourt, Alberta, on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. Phyllis was born February 22, 1928, in Carseland, Alberta. Phyllis was one of 12 children born to Phillip and Elizabeth Dick. She attended school in Carseland, where her parents had a farm, so there was always a lot to do. She loved to sing, belonged to a school choir and attended lots of concerts. After school was done, she went to Falun, Alberta, to stay with her sister. There she met John Klein, whom she married on July 6th, 1950. They moved to Hinton in 1956, where they built a home and raised their two children. After her husband John passed away (2002), she stayed in her home until moving to Whitecourt with her daughter, Karen, and son-in-law Gerry, in 2014. Her next move was to the senior lodge in Whitecourt in 2019. She made many friends there and enjoyed her life. Phyllis loved her garden and spent many hours there. She loved to crochet and knit, making sweaters for her grandchildren. Phyllis had three wonderful grandsons, Sheldon (Miranda) Aaron (Maureen), Randy (Erica) and four granddaughters, Danielle (Chad), Nicole (Marcus), Sarah (James), Nina (Nick), who held a special place in her heart. She had 15 great grandchildren. She loved her family and the grandkids loved to stay with her. Phyllis was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she touched. She was predeceased by her husband, John, son Terry, three sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her sisters Barb and Lynn as well as brother Dwayne.
Phyllis requested that she be cremated and buried next to her husband John in Hinton, Alberta.
