Peter Stashko

Peter (Papa) was born in Thorsby Alberta, oldest son of Anne and William Stashko. Siblings Woldymer (deceased) and Natalie. Passed peacefully on July 17, 2020.  Predeceased by loving wife Elsie, son Terry and grand daughter Amber.  Survived by sons Russell (Chantal), Doug (Shari), Darrel (Erin), daughter Wendy (Cal) Grandchildren Aimee, Zachary, Scott, Dustin, Wyatt, Tristan, Meagan, Great Grand Children Zander, Zaxon, Amelia, and Austin.  He was an awesome husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Peter had a great career in the seed business (after working at the Thorsby Nu-way Grocery and Merchantile store and a short stint as a bartender in Coronation Alberta), starting in Breton Alberta, Marchand Manitoba, Grande Prairie and Clairmont Alberta.  He knew most of the Fescue, Clover and Brome farmers in the Grande Prairie and surrounding areas, never forgot a name or a face. He was a fair and reasonable seed buyer and well respected.  Peter had a great sense of humour and enjoyed a game of cards, especially cribbage – a legacy he passed on to all his children and most of the grandchildren. 

An avid camper and fisherman, he taught his sons, daughter and most of the boys on 110^th Avenue how to fish. He coached hockey, had a passion for carpentry and was a Kinsmen and member of BPOE (Elks)

Peter had a full life after retirement of travelling, wintering in Arizona and Vancouver Island and fishing. Moving to Edson, Alberta in his later years he and wife Elsie made many friends. The Edson senior community will miss him. 

In light of the current pandemic, there will be no funeral however the family will have a small private celebration of his long life.
