It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Paschak on November 4, 2022. He passed away peacefully in extended care in Mayerthrope, Alberta at the age of 80 years.
Left to mourn are his daughter Debbie (Pete), granddaughter Lauren (Leo), grandson Steven, son Bradley (Kevlyn), grandsons James (Ali), and Justin, his loving partner Freeda, sisters Olga, Carolyn (Paul) and Irene (Leon) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Dmitro & Maria Paschak, brothers Fred, Bill and Mirslaw (Casper) and sister Mildred.
Peter was born in Wolf Creek, Alberta on April 1, 1942. He went to school in Drostan and then Edson until Grade 10. After he finished his schooling, he worked with his dad and brothers in his dad's lumber camp. In the years after, he worked out at Inland Cement & The Luscar Mine in Cadomin as well as heavy equipment operation and lease building in oil patch. If you asked anyone, he was said to be the best linecutter for seismic in the area. He was passionate about the outdoors, never missing a chance to head down to "the flats" to fish the river, and always hoping for a moose or elk tag each and every year. If he wasn't out fishing or hunting, you could always catch him at home stoking a fire in his wood stove with the promise of a cold beer and a game of 31.
In lieu of flowers and other tributes, donations may be made to Edson Continuing Care and Mayerthorpe Continuing Care.
