Paul Arne Led Hansen

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Arne Led Hansen in Edson, Alberta 2024/10/26.

Paul was born the second oldest of 9 children in Denmark 1939/01/29. He entered the Army for a short time before moving to Sweden in 1958/59 where he worked in a Volvo car plant.  He then emigrated to Canada in 1960 to live up his dream of being a farmer. Paul worked on a few farms in southern Alberta before buying his own section of raw land in Bonanza, Alberta where he cultivated the land himself and raised cows, horses, chickens and pigs. For the first few years he lived alone in a smaller wooden house on the farm until he married Maureen Cryne at the Bay tree Hall 1967.  They had 3 children Philip, Arne and Monica which led to a bigger house being built on the farm. The family moved to Edson, Alberta in 1978 to purchase Edson Auto Parts and later he owned Hansen’s House Moving.

Paul was predeceased by his first wife Maureen, partner Carla Bouchard, brother Eric Hansen and brother Borge Hansen.  He will be forever missed by his children Philip (Monique), Arne and Monica (Stacey), and 7 Grandchildren Breanna (Mike), Justine (Ryan), Zoie (Jordan), Jayden (Isaac), Gabby, Gavin and Jeorgia.  He will also be forever missed by his Danish family, brothers Henning (Margit), John (Hanne), Peter (Ellis), Mogens (Ulla), Ulrich (Annette), sister Rita (Erik) and numerous nieces and nephews.  He will be a great memory to share for his upcoming Great Grandchildren.

Paul loved adventures, family time, traveling, frequent trips to his home country Denmark, camping, hunting, fishing, conversations, and afternoon naps.  He was a hard worker his whole life and did what he had to do to make his dreams come true.  Paul will be remembered for his generosity, laughter, and his jolly demeanor.  He cherished his life’s journeys and encounters with the people he had met along the way.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for his family and close friends at a later date.
