Patricia Ann (Faulder) Nicholl

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Patricia (Pat) Nicholl, aged 93, on December 31, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family in Jasper, Alberta.

Pat was born on February 4, 1932, in Edmonton, Alberta, to Joseph and Eleanor Faulder. Pat lived in McLennan and then Bassano until 1947, when she and her family moved to Jasper, Alberta. In Jasper, Pat met Bill Nicholl in high school, and they married in 1954. Pat and Bill raised their three children, Linda, Barbara and Billy, in what is now the Gardener’s Cabin at the Jasper Park Lodge from 1960-1990. In 1990, Pat and Bill moved back into town to her previous home on Colin Crescent, which was originally built by Pat’s father and was designed by Pat at the age of 16. It was there they lived until 2003, when they moved to Kamloops. In 2015 Pat returned home to the mountains of Jasper, where she spent her final years connecting with friends and enjoying her family. 

Over her years in Jasper, Pat worked at Malowney’s in town and at the Jasper Park Lodge. She also managed the Rowed & O’Neil gift shop at the Jasper Park Lodge, along with their wholesale department. Pat later worked as the manager of Pine Grove Seniors Manor until her retirement. She filled some of her spare time volunteering for Seton Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Lions Club in both Jasper and Kamloops.

Pat was a fabulous baker and cook who made sure you didn’t leave her home without a few cookies. In addition to her talents in the kitchen, she loved to scrapbook and create photo albums for family and friends, but the skill she was probably best known for is her esteemed sewing skills. She handmade clothes, costumes, did custom alterations, made the most stunning quilts and also made her own wedding dress. Traveling was also a hobby she enjoyed from time to time. Pat loved her trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Ireland, Dominican Republic, the Maritimes, and many road trips in the campervan or car. For anyone who ever met her, even if only briefly, what left a big impression was always how elegant and put-together she was. Always a refined outfit, the perfect lip color and never a hair out of place. 

Pat will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Linda (Bob) and Barb, her grandchildren, Laurie, Adrienne (Ewen), Tricia (Ariel), Sean, Warren (Amanda), Heather (Cesar), Austin (Tamara), Kaylene (Parker), Mason, Rachel, Kristin, Lauren (Gary), Fiona, Kendall (Alden),great-grandchildren, Sierra (Darren), Arianna, Poppy, Rylan, Isaac (Trina), Nicole (Alex), Julian, James, Lennox, Lachlan, Georgia and Wren, great-great grandchildren Presley, and Will, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her husband Bill, brothers Barry and Stanley, son Billy, as well as her grandson, Daniel.

Service:
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 6th, 2026, at Alpine Summit Seniors Lodge, at 2:00 pm, followed by a Graveside Service at Jasper Cemetery at 4:00 pm. A gathering for family and close friends will also be held the following day, June 7th, at Trefoil Lake, from 10:30 am - 2:00 pm.

We would like to thank the staff of Alpine Summit, the doctors, nurses and all the staff who provided exceptional and compassionate care to Pat.
