The family of Norman Rodseth sadly announce his passing on May 10, 2021 in Edson, AB at the age of 84.
Norm was born April 7, 1937 to Ole and Iris Rodseth and was raised in Calgary, AB. He received his Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of British Columbia in 1960 and married his fiancée, Janet, later that year. They moved to Grande Prairie to start their new life together and welcomed 3 daughters to the family.
Norm’s career with the Alberta Forest Service took them to High Level, Edson, Edmonton and finally retirement back in Edson in 1992. His retirement at an early age allowed the couple to enjoy fishing, travelling to Florida, fishing, travelling to Mexico, fishing, camping in the Yukon/Alaska, more fishing, cross-Canada camper trip to the Maritimes, even more fishing, and a trip to Australia and New Zealand.
Predeceased by his brother, Barry Rodseth in 1948, Norman is survived by his wife, Janet, and his daughters – Judy Rodseth of Calgary; Lynn (Charles) Zelden of Weston, Florida; and Pat (Ferenc) Scobie of Hinton. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Miriam Zelden, Noah Scobie and Eric Scobie and Norman’s sister, Elaine (Gary) Sky of Fairview. Additional family members include numerous nephews, nieces and cousins from Alberta, British Columbia, and Ontario.
A memorial and internment will be held in Edson during the summer, date is not determined at this time. Foothills Memorial Chapel will be involved with the final arrangements.
