Iley, Nora Hope (Preece), 81, of Leduc, AB, passed away peacefully after a long battle with liver disease, on April 29, 2020 at the Leduc Community Hospital.
Born February 13, 1939 in Edson, AB. Nora spent the majority of her early life raising her family with her husband Lawrence, while residing in Edmonton, AB. They eventually returned home to Edson on his retirement in 1983.
Over the years she was involved in the Alberta Fish and Game Association, Eastern Star, Royal Purple, the Red Hat Society, TOPS and volunteered as a cook at the Edson Seniors Association.
Nora loved to garden, and her home was always open to visitors with tea, coffee and treats.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (Byron) Beckman of Mackenzie, BC, Shannon (Ken) Moore of Surrey, BC, Neal Norris of Edson, AB, Crystal Norris of Edson, AB and Kelly (John) Edwards of Calmar, AB; her grandchildren Dayton Darou of Dunnville, ON, Mitchelle Cardinal and Lane Norris of Edmonton, AB, Lori-Jeanne Edwards of Leduc, AB, Travis (Tori Vallee) Ingersoll of Leduc, AB, Cole (Sarah MacEwan) Ingersoll of Leduc, AB, Dustin (Spenser Pasman) of Edmonton, AB as well as her great-grandchildren, Tyler Cox-Norris of Edmonton, AB, Aubree Murphy and Tyrus Ingersoll of Leduc, AB. She has many nieces and nephews.
Nora was predeceased by her loving spouse, Lawrence Iley in 2008, both of her parents, Olive Preece and Reece Preece, as well as her siblings, Tommy Preece, Sally Wilson and Norman Preece.
At Nora’s request, there will be no public service. The family will hold a private celebration of her life at a later date.
