Longtime resident of Hinton (70 Years), Melvin Albert Keith (Mel), was born on the homestead in Tiger Lily, Alberta, to Parents Laban and Mildred Keith. He was the 4th of 7 children. Mel passed away peacefully at the Hinton Hospital with family by his side.
Mel was predeceased by his parents Laban and Mildred Keith, his siblings Mabel Doherty, Norma McBeth and June Gillard, his infant daughter Valerie and his grandson Todd Slusarcyk.
Left to mourn his loss are his wife of 44 years, Mary Keith, daughters Myrna (Gary), Denise (Peter) and son Greg, as well his blended family Trent (Livi) and Stacy (Dave),
grandchildren Jill (Ryan), Cara (Chris), Myles (Katlyn), Parker (Haley), Alaisha (John), Annika (Mehmet), Renatta, Alana, Adam (Brooke) and Jessa.
Mel is also survived by 9 great grandchildren. Also left to mourn his loss are his sisters Caroline Borle and Dorothy Borle(Jules) and brother Vern Keith(Diane).
These children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were all very special to him. Family meant everything.
Mel leaves behind an amazing legacy and will be missed dearly by family and his many friends.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Mel on Saturday, September 26th, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at The Alliance Church in Hinton, Alberta.
