Mary "Lynn" (Joy) Wilson

It is with great sadness and heartbreak that the family of Lynn Wilson announce her passing on Saturday, the 12th day of April, 2025, at the age of 74. 

Lynn was born and raised in Edson, Alberta, on May 30, 1950.  After graduation Lynn received her teaching degree and embarked on her teaching career in different areas of Alberta.  Lynn married the love of her life Jack in 1970, they returned to Edson to raise their children, operate Cordijay Holdings Ltd., and Seaspray Laundromat for over 40 years.

Lynn had so many dear family and dear friends in her lifetime and spent her life helping others in any way she could and without hesitation.

Lynn will be lovingly remembered by her children Corrie (Greg) Leier, Dionne (Shayne) Frith, Jay Wilson and Leigh Anne (David) Seymour; grandchildren, Tyler (Sydney), Hayley (Derian), Addison, Delaney and her great granddaughter Lilah; sister, Gail (Terry) Switzer; brothers-in-law, Bill Wilson, Patrick Wilson, Bob (Nancy) Wilson; sister-in-law, Kathy (Darrell) Traill; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong and new friends.

Lynn was predeceased by her husband Jack Wilson; parents, Louis and Edith Joy; father- and mother-in-law Clarence and Kathleen “Kay” Wilson and nephew Tanner Wilson.

A Celebration of Lynn’s amazing Life will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, Edson, Alberta.  An Interment will follow at The Glenwood Cemetery, Edson, Alberta, for the immediate family and anyone else wishing to attend.  Lunch and a time of fellowship will immediately follow the Service in the basement of the Church.

Lynn and her children wish to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to the wonderful care provided at her home in Hinton, Alberta, the last year and a half.  Lynn loved her caregivers so much and became “Momma Lynn” to many of them. 

Memorial Donations may be made in Lynn’s name to the Hinton Continuing Care Center - HCC - Resident Family Council at 1290 Switzer Drive, Hinton, Alberta, T7V 2E9 to help fund the recreation programs that she and the other residents so enjoy. Or any charity of one’s personal choice would be gratefully accepted.
