Marie Corrine Wabason

It is with heavy hearts the family of Marie “Corrine” Wabason announces her sudden and unexpected passing on February 25, 2026, with her son-in-law Rick by her side.

Corrine was born on February 3, 1943, in Nakina, Ontario, to Thomas and Marie Wabason. She was the oldest of their 13 children.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving children: son Richard “Rick” (Mary) Wabason and their children Christopher, Sarah, and Daniel. Daughter Carol (Rick) Dallaire and their children Seanna (Ryan) O’Regan and Brady Dallaire. Son Jean-Paul “Guy” Wabason and his son Guy and her beautiful great-granddaughter Emma O’Regan, as well as brothers and sisters Isadore Wabason, Edward Wabason, Lena “China” Wabason, Floyd Wabason and Yvonne Howson.

Corrine was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Marie Wabason, her sisters Rita Wabason, Helen "Buffy" Wabason, Edna Donio, Annie Coletta and Rosie Lowetz, her brothers Raymond, and Walter Wabason, her loving husband Peter Orville Gagnon, and their beloved son Lyle Peter Gagnon.

We would like to thank the Hinton Healthcare Centre, all the doctors, nurses, healthcare aids and all the support staff for the exceptional care our mom received during her extended stay the last few months. Especially to Dr. Martin, Dr. Sorenson and Kyla Best for their care, genuine compassion and making her last days as comfortable as possible.

Please join the family for a Funeral Mass on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Foothills Catholic Church in Hinton, Alberta.
