On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, Mabel Brown quietly passed away.
Mabel was born February 20, 1928 in Williams Lake, B.C., where she has 3 surviving sisters, Shirley, Audrey and June.
Mabel and Doug met and married in Kamloops, he worked for CNR, and Mabel was a telephone operator. They moved to Edmonton then on to Jasper in 1955, with their growing family. Jasper became their permanent home where they raised their children, gardened, volunteered, hiked, played and retired. The Anglican Church was an important part of their lives.
Mabel was predeceased by her husband Douglas in 2019, her sister Irene, her granddaughter Leah, and her son-in-law Jack.
She leaves to mourn her four children, Janet, Doug and wife Lorie, Clifford, Norman. Also her beloved grandchildren, Jennifer, David, Russell, Kyler, Tobin, Tekarra and James. Her great grandchildren, Finlay, Liam, Oskar, Sayda, Isla, Della, Daisy, Jack, Baby Mabel. And all her many cousins nieces and nephews.
She was dearly loved by her great big family, as she loved them!
Thank you to Alpine Summit Lodge where she resided; and to all the wonderful nurses, aides, staff and volunteers who made her life comfortable and happy. Special thanks to Dr. Wilson and all the dear people who cared for her in her last hours. We are so grateful for your loving care of our mother.
Mabel died gently as she lived her life. Her family will miss her always.
