Lucille Bernadette (Morissette) Couture

Lucille Couture, also known as Lucy and Memere, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2024, at the Grande Cache Community Health Complex at the age of 81 years old.

Lucille was born on October 9, 1942, in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan, to Andre and Lucie.

Lucille was a proud and active member in the community. She participated in many clubs and organizations including the Grande Cache Legion, the Golden Age Club, the Red Hats, the French Connection Group and the CWL.

She was well-known by many for her talent and passion for crafting and quilting. She spent countless hours creating beautiful pieces that were cherished by many. She participated in every farmer’s market and craft fair in the local area for many years. She spent all available hours downstairs in her craft room with her Busy Bee’s Crew. She loved sharing her crafting skills and knowledge with anyone eager to learn.

Lucille’s faith was a guiding force in her life. She attended church regularly, finding strength and solace in her spiritual community. She was very proud of her faith, her family, her friends and all of their accomplishments.

Lucille is survived by her sons Donald (Helen) and Paul; daughter-in-law Debbie; grandchildren Aimee (Todd), Katee (Donnie), Loree-Jon (Derek), Megan, Kaylee, Russell (Celina) and Nicole; great-grandchildren Kierra, Layne, Drayden, Alexis, Owen, and Westyn; brothers Camile (Isabelle) Morissette, Luke (Doris) Bouvier, Ronald (Elaine) Bouvier, Guy Bouvier, Leon (Carol) Bouvier; sisters Denise Loeffler and Irene (David) Abraham, as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family.

Lucille is predeceased by her parents, her husband Jean-Marie, children Jean-Guy Couture and Colin Couture and brothers Claude, Gerard and Henri.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Grande Cache, Alberta. The interment of Cremated Remains will take place at the Grande Cache Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Holy Cross Catholic Church. The luncheon is supported by the CWL.
