In Loving Memory of
Lorne William John Messner
October 26, 1926 – May 27, 2020
Mr. Lorne William John Messner of Edson, beloved husband of Jo-Anne, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the age of 93 years.
Born October 26, 1926 in Forestburg, Alberta.
First and foremost, Dad was a family man. He was a pilot, especially fond of the De Havilland Tiger Moth Biplane. He was an extremely hard worker and did everything from driving taxi, being a salesman for Fuller Brush, driving long haul throughout Canada and the U.S. for a couple of major trucking companies, hauling everything from whiskey to dynamite.
He spent the last 15 years of his working life before retirement driving bus for and managing Cardinal Coachlines in Fox Creek.
Dad loved to travel and seemed to always have a camera in his hands. Our family’s life is well documented in pictures! He was a kind and loving man whom we all looked up to and he will be missed more than words can ever say.
Lorne will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years Jo-Anne; his children Jim (Barb) Messner of Cochrane, AB., Tracey (Don) Snow of Edson, AB., 3 stepdaughters Cindy (Kirk), Sherry (Donald), and Val; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Lorne was predeceased by his parents George Ambrose Messner and Stella Valentine McNeil (nee Ross, nee Messner); and brother Rueben who passed away at age 9.
Cremation has taken place. His precious memory will be forever in our hearts. Love you always.
