It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard Neal Kneteman. Len passed away at the age of 67 on his beloved farm in Yellowhead County on New Years Day, 2024.
An Edson native, Len was born to George and Jaqueline Kneteman (Sutherland) on August 18th, 1956, and had six brothers and sisters.
Len had a 40-year career as a heavy equipment operator for Coal Valley. In retirement, Len enjoyed working part time for his son-in-law Brian as a Line Locator in the oil patch. Len was happiest on his farm “doing his chores”, spending time with his daughters & grandsons Wyatt, Liam, and Vance and hanging out with his buddies. Ever the animal-lover, his cows, goats, chickens, dogs, and army of cats filled more of a role as pets than they did farm animals.
Len is predeceased by his father George, brother Bruce, brother-in-law Dwight, father’s in-law Wynn and Walter.
He is survived by his loving family:
Wife Alyson, daughter Lauren (Brian) grandsons Wyatt and Liam and daughter Kelsey (Trevor) and grandson Vance, mother Jaqueline, brothers Jeff (Barb) and Orey (Carol), sisters Bonnie, Gaylayne (Larry), and Jayne (Tim), mother-in-law Marlene and sisters-in-law Trish (Arlan), Jeanene (Ray).
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 11th, 2024 at the Edson Legion at 1:00 PM.
In the spirit of Len’s love for animals, a donation can be made in his name to the Edson Animal Rescue Society.
