It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Leonard Bibby on January 4, 2025. Born on April 14, 1942, in Blackburn, England, Len was the beloved son of Leonard and Elizabeth Bibby. In July of 1968, Len embarked on a new chapter of his life, immigrating to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he built a life filled with love, family, and hard work.
Len is survived by his devoted wife, Louise, who was by his side through all of life’s moments. Together, they created a family that he cherished deeply. He leaves behind his children: Leonard Bibby Jr., Lisa Bibby (Adrian), Melanie Bownes, and Marcel Bibby. Len was a proud grandfather to Beth Bibby, William Leather, Yves Leather, Marcel Brandon Bibby, Brett Bownes, Sierra Bownes, and Jared Bownes. He also delighted in being a great-grandfather to Anna Bownes, Jayden Bibby, Theo Bibby, and Bonny Bibby. Len’s love extended to many nieces and nephews.
Len was predeceased by his son Gregory Bibby, who remains forever in our hearts.
A man of great dedication, Len found immense pride in his work at the Hinton Pulp Mill, remaining fascinated by its operations until his final days. Fishing, especially trips to the "coast," was Len's passion and his way of connecting with nature and finding peace. Above all, Len’s greatest joy was his family. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was boundless, and they were always his priority.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Hinton Healthcare Foundation.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Hinton Community Centre on January 16, 2025 at 1:00 PM with Interment to follow.
As we gather to celebrate Len's life, we honor the legacy of a kind, hardworking, and loving man who touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
He will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain with us forever.
May he rest in peace.
