With great sadness, we say good-bye to our husband, father, and grandpa, Leo Patrick Koebel of Edson, Alberta. Leo passed away peacefully at the Edson and District Healthcare Centre surrounded by family. Left to treasure his memory are his loving wife; Anne (Lovsin), sons; Don (Blossom), Gerald (Lisa), daughter; Dianne (Don), grandchildren; Taryn, Dija, Kiera, Everett, Ryan, Gryphon, Shea, and Zachary, brother; George (Toni), sister; Barb (Wayne), and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Koebel; brother; John, and sister; Mariea.
Leo will be remembered by all for his kindness, patience, generosity, compassion, sharp wit and sense of humour. Always appreciating the small things, his life was filled with family, volunteering, hobbies, and being in the moment. He was a: plumber, businessman, altar boy, hiker, lector, golfer, curler, fisherman, hunter, gardener, avid reader, prankster, #1 dance festival supporter, fastball and hockey player, hockey coach, on the Minor Hockey Executive, Kinsman/K-40 member for 63 years, and volunteer Santa. He loved selling drink tickets and slinging beer at the slo-pitch tournaments every year. He was loving, gentle, humble, honest, a chauffeur to many, the other half of Edson’s most famous walking duo, and the email centre of western Canada. Leo was a man of honour and took care of everyone throughout his life.
