Lee-Roy passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at the Edson Healthcare Centre. Lee-Roy was weeks away from turning 82 years of age. Lee-Roy grew up in Dinsmore Sask. He came to Edson in 1961 with his parents, Lloyd and Jessie, and his four brothers. Soon after he met his wife, Lorraine. They were married for 61 years and had 3 daughters, Lori, Lynn, and Leigh.
Lee-Roy was a lifelong Barber and very much enjoyed the social aspect of that job. He was very community oriented, joining the Edson Kinsmen Club, K 40 Club, and the Edson Oldtimers Hockey Club. He was a decorated member of the Edson Volunteer Fire Department, retired at age 70, after serving for 37 years. He wasn’t home very many evenings!!!
Since retiring he spent his time mowing the grass in the summer and plowing the snow in the winter on their acreage.
Lee-Roy is survived by his wife Lorraine, daughters Lori (Randy), Lynn (Gord), and Leigh, grandchildren, great grandchildren, 3 brothers Donald (Gail), Gaye (Val) and Linden, as well as sister-in-Law Anita, and their extended families.
Lee-Roy was pre-deceased by his parents, Lloyd (1991) and Jessie (1994), brother Clarke, (1976), and sister-in-law Susan (2021).
Cremation has taken place. A Private Family Service will take place at a later date.
