It is with great sadness our family announces the unexpected passing of Kevin Lee Belcourt on Feb 8, 2023 at the age of 61. Kevin was born June 12, 1961 in Edson, Alberta.
Kevin lived most of his life in Marlboro and Edson. He worked primarily in oil and gas ending as a Security Guard for Bannister pipeline before his retirement in 2020. Kevin spent his final years back home near Marlboro living close to nature with dear family Skipper and Stacey on their acreage. Kevin loved the outdoors; net fishing, hunting, and harvesting of medicines. His favorite was hunting chickens for a hearty pot of soup and baked bannock. Kevin was a deep thinker and voracious reader; he loved his books where a 500 pager would easily be done in two evenings and then onto the next book. In spring, you’d find Kevin tilling up the garden, ready for another season of sowing and producing his veggies. It gave him great pleasure to have visitors leave with an armload of produce.
Kevin had two other passions: playing the guitar and playing crib. He could play anything from heavy metal to soft rock, from blues to folk and even classical. He was a great crib player and if you ever managed to beat him, he would jokingly say there must have been some kind of spell you used to win.
Kevin was predeceased by his mother Eleanor Taylor, his stepfather, Burt Taylor and his brother, Steward. He is survived by siblings, Albin & Vickie Belcourt, Steven & Lori Belcourt, Marlon Belcourt, Constance Dinwoodie, Mona Letendre, Linda & Richard Messier, Tony Belcourt, and David (Martin) Belcourt. Kevin will be forever remembered by numerous relatives and an abundance of friends.
"The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye/the story of love is hello and goodbye, until we meet again.”
