Karina Arnesen

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Karina Arnesen passed away on October 8, 2025, in Hinton, Alberta, at the age of 98.

Karina Varne was born in Aakra, Norway, on March 2, 1927. She was the second of four children born to Harry Melvin Varne and Hanna Kornelia Sjoen. 

Karina married Ingleif Arnesen on January 25, 1961.  In May of 1961, Karina emigrated to Canada.  Karina and Ingleif lived in British Columbia for the next 37 years, making their home in Dawson Creek, Campbell River, Valemount and finally McBride.  Karina raised two sons, Anders “Andy” Arnesen and Harry Arnesen.

Karina is survived by her son Harry Arnesen and his wife, Donna Arnesen (nee Driedger), her daughter-in-law Colette Arnesen (nee Jeffrey); and by her grandchildren, Karina Arnesen ( m. C. Brewster Laxton), Hanna  Siermachesky (nee Arnesen) (m. Shayne Siermachesky), Daniel Arnesen, Lee  Arnesen; and her great grandchildren, Petra Laxton, and Marius Laxton.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ingleif Arnesen, and her son, Anders “Andy” Arnesen.
