Joseph Charles "Denis" Baudin

Joseph Charles Denis Baudin, age 79, of Edson, Alberta, son of Cora Hakes and Leon Baudin, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. He died peacefully with his loving family at his side in Edson, Alberta. 

Born March 10, 1943, in Edson, Alberta, he was soul mate to Pauline Baudin for 61 years and a dedicated father to Jo Ann Baudin, Carmen Baudin, Tiffany Baudin, Crystal Margetts (Nick Margetts-husband), Denis Baudin Jr. (Cheryl Lavoie-wife), and Nicole Baudin-Beasley (Christopher Beasley-husband). He was grandfather to 12: Nicholas Mahon, Christopher Mahon, Alexander Mahon, Logan Handford, Daniel Handford, Ethan Handford, Isaac Baudin, Kelela Lavoie-Baudin, Ilya Lavoie-Baudin, Dante Lavoie-Baudin, Jazmine Beasley, Makenzie Baudin-Beasley, Luna Rosalie and Andrew Margetts. He was brother to Tina LaFleur, Marie Collar, Louis Baudin, Leo Baudin, Isabel Irwin, Marc Baudin, John Baudin, Bernadette Karlzen, Cecilia Usherwood, Joe Baudin, and uncle to many.

Denis was an honourable man that was determined to provide for his family by working various jobs, such as working on the rigs and at a print shop. In 1968, he graduated from the University of Alberta to follow his calling to be a teacher, for 29 years. During his life, he became a self-taught home builder and handyman. Along with his infectious sense of humour, his passions included becoming a talented musician, dancing, camping, mountain hiking and biking, singing, and so much more. He loved the arts, from opera to famous masterpieces at the Louvre. His greatest passion was spending quality time with his family.

Denis’ Celebration of Life is at 1pm on December 29, 2022, at the Sacred Heart Parish Church- 4803 6^th Ave Edson, Alberta. Refreshments are provided after the service.
