Jack (John) Robert Taylor was born in Rabbit Lake, Sask., on Oct 17, 1932. He passed away peacefully in Hinton, AB, on Oct 22,2025.
Left to morn his loss is his son, Bob (Lis) Taylor, Ont., grandson Mathew (Marie) Taylor, North Carolina, USA, granddaughter Cristina (Caleb) Wallace, Ont., great grandson Tristian Taylor and great granddaughter Cassie Taylor, Ont., daughter Kathy (Ed) Thompson, Alberta, grandson Dion (Stephaine) Thompson, NFL, great granddaughter Alexa Thompson, NFL, grandson Aaron Thompson, Alberta, grandson Brandon Thompson, Alberta, great grandson Owen Thompson, Alberta, son Dale Taylor, Alberta, daughter Denise (Derrick) MacKinley, Alberta, grandson Justin Taylor, Alberta, granddaughter Natasha MacKinley ( Dereck Fok), Alberta, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
John is predeceased by his son Dale Taylor, wife Evelyn Taylor, grandson Justin Taylor,
his sister Berna Meersman and brother Bill Taylor.
Jack moved to Hinton in 1960. He worked at Cardinal River Coal as a dragline operator as well as heavy equipment operator. He also was a long-haul truck driver.
Jack loved to fish and camp. He learned to do woodworking from his father and was known for his birdhouses and cedar work. He also volunteered at the Do Drop making rags for many years.
