John Douglas Greene

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dearest son John after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Duncan, BC, to Richard and Yvonne Greene. He moved to Hinton at the age of 4.

He was a strong, brave, happy, loving soul. He saw the good in everyone he met and everyone loved John. He was a very hard-working guy and always kept himself busy. He would tackle any job that was asked of him. If he saw anyone in need, he was the first one to lend a helping hand. John was a very compassionate, good natured and easy-going guy.

Carpentry was his passion. He was always seen building or repairing something. He loved to build with his son Liam and enjoyed watching his attempts. His joy was his 5-year-old son Liam and loved doing things with him. John was so heartbroken when he learned that cancer was going to shorten his time with Liam. Liam loved his daddy so much and will always miss him.

John leaves behind his beloved son Liam Greene, his mother Yvonne Hearsey (Len), stepmom Sharal Johnston, his much-loved brother Steven Hearsey (Zaya), his sisters Gina MacRae (Adam, Matthew), Chrystal Roberston (Graham, Avel, Breanna, Amanda, Salem), Danielle Johnston Greene (Nikaylee, Alexis), Holly Hanna (Jeff, Eden, Megan, Lauren), as well as many aunties, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his dad Richard Greene, Grandma and Grandpa Greene, and Grandma and Grandpa Kocurek.
