It is with profound sadness that the family of James (Jim) Findlay announce his passing February 25, 2021, at the age of 83 years old. Jim was predeceased by his parents Katherine and Jim, his wife Gayle and his brother Jack. Jim is survived by his sister Lorrie.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his 4 children Wendy (Walter), Debbie (Jay), Jimmy (Lance) and Beverly. Jim also leaves 5 grandchildren Amanda, Stephen, Jason, Josh, Teagan, as well as 3 great grandchildren, Ariel, Noah and Katelynn. Jim is also survived by his first wife and friend Emilie as well as many extended family members and friends.
Jim was born in Long Lake and spent most of his life in the Edson area. Jim worked as a truck driver, trapper and hunting guide, but he also farmed. Jim had an entrepreneurial spirit which sparked 2 taxi businesses (Edson and Spruce Grove). In his later years he proudly served as a Pastor with his former wife Emilie. Together they started the Bread of Life Mission in Edson. He found this work extremely rewarding and enjoyed meeting and helping the people that came to the door with no where to go. Many people that came through the Mission would stop by and tell him how much he helped them in their time of need.
Jim continued this work into his 80’s even though he was struggling with many health issues.
