The family of Jack Edward Wilson sadly announces his passing on February 26th, 2025, in Hinton Alberta at the age of 87 years old. Jack was born on January 20th, 1938, in Barrie Ontario to Frances Arthur Wilson and Madeline Dorothy Wilson.
Jack was predeceased by both his parents Frances and Madeline, his brothers Robert M. Wilson and William Wilson, and as well as his first wife Lila D. Wilson.
Jack joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1955 and retired from the RCAF in 1976. He was re-hired as a civilian to be a survival school instructor at Jarvis Lake, until is his final retirement in 1990.
Places that Jack resided over the years are Barrie, Ontario; France; Goose Bay, Labrador; Courtney, British Columbia; St. Albert, Alberta; Hinton, Alberta and Obed, Alberta.
Some of Jack's hobbies and interests are fly tying and fly fishing, bird and big game hunting, trapping, trap shooting, gunsmithing, curling and camping. Jack belonged to the Trap club of Hinton for many years.
Jack is survived by his wife Myrna C. Wilson of Hinton, Alberta, his son D. Daniel Wilson of Grande Cache, Alberta, his daughters Heather D. (Dan) Porrill of Bay Tree, Alberta, Linda G. (Terry) Emmott of Vermillion, Alberta and stepson Steven T. Kidner of Hinton, Alberta. He is survived by his 9 grandchildren Erica, Adrianne, Mackenzie, Lidea, William, Kelly, Dawson, Ava and Mia as well as numerous Great Grandchildren. Jack is also survived by his siblings Donna Luck of Barrie, Ontario, Carolanne Chamberlaine of Toronto, Ontario and David Wilson of Toronto, Ontario.
There will be a funeral Service held on March 22nd, 2025, at the Hinton Centre, in Hinton, Alberta. The service will be officiated by Jason Fleming of The Baha’is of Stony Plain, Alberta. There will be an open casket viewing starting at 12:00pm until the service begins. Following the funeral Service there will be an interment and prayers at the Woodlawn Cemetery, in Hinton, Alberta. Please join the family for refreshments, lunch and fellowship following their return to the Hinton Centre after the interment.
