Iris Irene (Dean) Shelton

It’s with sadness that we announce the passing of Iris Irene (Dean) Shelton on July 30, 2025, at the age of 89, while residing at Touchmark by Wedgewood, Edmonton.
Born in Entwistle, Alberta, on September 16, 1935, to Randolph and Angelina Dean and Iris had one brother Gerald Dean. Iris grew up on a small farm south of Entwistle until her father’s illness had them move into town. There Iris attended school and worked in the local dress shop.
In 1954 Iris met the love of her life, Bud (Allan) Shelton and they were married September 1, 1955. Moving from Entwistle to Peers, they set up life on the farm with their 3 children. There Iris and Bud lived a flourishing life, enjoying all aspects of farming. Iris was always very proud of her garden, flowers and yard.   Iris also was involved in curling at the Peers Curling Club, loved going to bingo and playing many hours of card games with family and friends.
Always smiling and laughing and ready to have fun, whether it was traveling, suppers with friends and family or just sitting on the deck in the evenings.
Iris is predeceased by her husband of 65years, Allan(Bud) Victor Shelton, her parents, Randolph and Angelina Dean, brother Gerald Dean and daughter-in-law Carolyn Shelton. Iris is survived by her daughter Darla Shelton, grandson Todd(Kass) and great grandson Vander. Son Randy Shelton(Carolyn), grandson Matthew, grandson Addison(Cassidy) and granddaughter Cara.  Son Tyran Shelton(Janice), granddaughter Jolene(Tyler) Yackimec and great grandson’s Travis & Drew.  Granddaughter Cori(Chris) Moser, great granddaughter Evelyn, great grandson Gabriel and Grandson Tyler(Melissa). Also, many brother and sister In-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins, along with  grandson Burke Shelton(Shelby), great granddaughters Lillian & Emily and great grandson Edwin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 16, 2025, at the Fulham Hall at 3:00pm.
