Howie Johnston

Howie left this earth to pursue his next great adventure on April 28th 2024, in his own home, surrounded by his family, beside Gail, his wife of 65 years.

On June 25th, 1938, Howie was born in the family home west of Ponoka. He was the sixth of eight children born to Glen and Martha Johnston. Howie was a gifted teacher and affected the lives of hundreds of people both young and old.

His warmth, kindness, generosity and story telling are legendary.

 Howie is survived by wife Gail, sons Leath (Kelly) and Dan (Elizabeth), grand children Spencer (Nisha), Peter and Samantha (Caleb), brother Dale Johnston and sisters Noreen Olson and Donna Howden.

A Celebration of Howie's Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Edson at 1PM on May 23, 2024.
