The boys of Gregg Watson are devastated to share that their dad passed away suddenly on October 3rd, 2024, in Edson, Alberta at the young age of 47.
Gregg Allan Watson was born to Larry and Sharlene in Salmon Arm, British Columbia on April 26th, 1977. He was the youngest of three. His childhood was spent throughout British Columbia, in Canoe, Prince George and Williams Lake, where he graduated from high school. After completing his welding certification, Gregg found himself moving to Hinton, Alberta for work, eventually ending up in Edson, Alberta where he spent the last 17 years on the property he loved.
Gregg was a strong and caring father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was dedicated to his boys, patiently teaching them and cheering them on in whatever they were doing. Gregg was creative and hardworking, always willing to try new things. He had an adventurous spirit; he was excited to share his passion for fitness and the outdoors with anyone who was interested. Many mountains were climbed, trails biked, and rivers kayaked whether on his own or with family and friends.
Gregg leaves behind his boys, Tayson and Dylan Watson, stepson Jaryd Taylor and their mom, Alisha Taylor, of Edson, Alberta. His mom, Sharlene Watson of Barriere, British Columbia, brother Dave (Buffy) Watson of Hinton, Alberta and sister Karen Hart of Kamloops, British Columbia. Also grieving are his nephews: Brandon (Samantha) Hart, Josh (Mackenzie) Watson, Brayden Hart, Cody Watson, Travis (Kay) Hart, Marc Watson and Davin Hart as well as many close friends.
Gregg was predeceased by his dad, Larry Watson, in 2020 and his grandparents before that.
Gregg’s remarkable character and wit will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Gregg’s life will be held for family and friends at the families home, Saturday, June 7th, 2025, at 2:00pm.
