It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gerald Nelson Stroud on September 18, 2022, at the age of 80 years in Edson, Alberta.
He was born in Edson, Alberta on December 08, 1941, to parents Charles Stroud and Lillian French.
He married Carol McQueen May 12, 1962, who predeceased him December 31, 1983. Together they had two daughters, Delaine and Bonnie, and a son
Andrew who predeceased him in 1975.
They purchased their home on the Grand Prairie Trail in 1972, where Gerald remained until his passing. In 1984 he met Annette Christofferson and they
shared their love until her passing on December 08, 2003.
Gerald was an automotive mechanic, oilfield maintenance operator, millwright and hobby farmer. He enjoyed the great outdoors with horseback riding, farming,
hunting, fishing and camping.
He is survived by his daughters Delaine (Dave) and Bonnie (Elmer), Grandchildren Ashley (Noah), Samantha (Bryce), Heidi (Ryan), Sabine and Steven. Brothers Jim
(Ruth) Stroud, Ron (Lynda) Stroud, Sister-in-Law Sharon Jehelka and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his father Charles and Patricia Stroud, Mother Lillian and John French, Wife Carol, Common Law Wife Annette, Brother Bobbie, and Son
Andrew.
A Memorial Service will be held October 01, 2022, at the Edson Baptist Church (4717-9 Avenue, Edson, AB) at 1:00 p.m.
