Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of Gary Douglas Tracey announces his passing on September 7, 2023, at the age of 73 years, at the Edson Community Healthcare Centre.
Gary was born in St John, New Brunswick, where at a young age he joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served 11 years, with his last posting in central Alberta. He then ventured into many self-employed business opportunities throughout his life such as home construction, land investment, owner operator of stores and sales, landscaping, hunter guiding, elk farming and tourist attraction. He had a passion for hunting and fishing and was quick to help new hunters learn the sport.
Gary is survived by his wife Carrie Tracey, daughter Corena and son Kirt, and four grandchildren and a great granddaughter. Gary is also survived by siblings Gail, Stephen, David, Brian and Sean.
The family would like to thank Dr. Smith, the nurses and staff of the Edson Community Healthcare Centre for the exceptional care, compassion and commitment during Gary’s final days.
A celebration of Life will be held in the future where family and friends will be invited for a time of fellowship.
